On your test you will find the following three questions:
1. How have events in Saskatchewan's past, including the signing of the treaties, affected our identity?
In other words, how have we gone from signing the treaties, to new people settling on farms, to who we are as a province of people today? What happened?
We learned about this through our Canadian History Mini Inquiry, Canadian History Summary, Treaty Four reenactment and Pass System simulation.
2. How have Saskatchewan's land and ecosystems changed since the arrival of the European settlers?
In other words, what was Saskatchewan's ecosystem like before the European settlers came and what was different after?
We learned about this through our pre debate research, debate, and debate Summary of Learning.
3. How has immigration and settlement influenced who we are as Canadians?
In other words, how has everything that we learned about the past including all the groups that came here after the treaties, change Canada to what it is like now.
We learned about this through our Canadian Multicultural Project.
You will have to think back to all of the things that we did in Inquiry over the last three months (see above) and think about what kind of country Canada is today. How has what happened in our past, made our society and environment the way it is now?
You can use any resources that you have from what we have done in class, all notes, projects and this website. We do not want to know what you can memorize, only what you truly understand.
You can either write your answers as an essay or if there is another way that you would like to demonstrate your answers, please think about it ahead of time and talk to me about it. Ideas could be using Glogster or Xtranormal. You might want to start this process at home ahead of time and just finish it up at school. You could also create an artwork IF you were sure that you could demonstrate all understandings in that way.
